Several years ago we started a non-profit company to reduce teen car accidents by creating the CAUTION-NEWLY LICENSEDcar magnet and decal to encourage nearby drivers to show caution and courtesy towards inexperienced teen drivers (those with a learner's permit, or their first driver's license).

 

These magnets received great acclaim, having being featured on Fox and Friends, the AOL.COM homepage, and various local news channels, radio talk shows, newspapers and blogs across the country.

I came up with the CAUTION-PRECIOUS CARGO magnet several years later.

 

Last December, my precious grandson, Andy, was born. When he was only 2 weeks old, I took him to see Santa at the mall. It was snowing lightly outside and I was a nervous wreck. Although I was driving carefully, few other drivers were. I wanted to scream out the window "Please don't hit me - I have a baby in the car!" Andy is now 7-months-old, and I still feel distracted or nervous when he is in the car - especially when he crys and fusses, or drops his toy.

 

Many years ago, I felt the same way when I was transporting my daughter's wedding dress to the church, wanting nothing to ruin her special day, and I wish I had had this magnet when taking my elderly Dad (who uses a walker) to doctor's appointments.

 

 

In making these magnets, I wanted to design a multi-purpose, powerful, and persuasive sign - easily used by anyone who needs to drive a little more slowly and a little more cautiously.

Having tested the Caution-Precious Cargo car magnet, I can tell you - it works! Nearby drivers respond by slowing down, respecting distances, and allowing merges and lane changes.
